Education
Student Internships
Each quarter the museum enlists the services of senior undergraduate students
from the design program. They gain practical hands-on experience in the museum
exhibition process including installation design, preparation and the handling
of objects.
Events
Concurrent with the museum's exhibition openings and programming are lectures
and in-gallery presentations by practitioners and researchers from the design
profession and other related fields. The museum also hosts exhibition related
events such as workshops for local school groups and joint ventures with the
other areas of the university.
Group Visits
The museum encourages visits from school and student groups as well as other
interested parties. These visits are typically associated with an exhibition
and a related curriculum or project. Please contact the museum for further information.
Design Collection
Objects from the design collection are often used for hands-on study in the
classroom as well as displayed in exhibitions. They illustrate technical and
stylistic design concepts, and document the evolution of media, technique and
cultural trends. The collection serves as a unique resource for both faculty
and students majoring in Fashion and Textile Design, Visual Communications and
Interior Design.
